H2O is polar , whereas BeF2 is not .It is because.....

In BeF2 the dipole moment is zero as BeF2 is linear is shape. whereas H2O has a net dipole moment which is caused due to the bond moment and the lone pair moment . therefore H2O is polar whereas BeF2 is not
