1. A gram atom and a gram molecule are termed as a mole of atom and am mole of molecules respectively.
2. For e.g 1 gram atom of oxygen is 1 mole of O and 1 gram molecule of oxygen is 1 mole of O2.
3. In iodine,

Number of moles of I in 25.4 mg of I =25.4126.9=0.2

Similarly for I2= 0.1 m moles.

4. So, 25.4 mg of iodine has 0.2 mmoles of I and 0.1 mmoles of I2.
