Before adding the dielectric, net capacitance of the circuit=\dfrac{C}{2}.
Hence total charge on the capacitors=\dfrac{C}{2}V

After adding dielectric, the capacitance of one of the capacitor becomesKC.
Hence effective capacitance of the circuit becomes\dfrac{KC.C}{KC+C}=\dfrac{KC}{K+1}

Hence total charge on the capacitors increases to\dfrac{KC}{K+1}V
Hence amount of charge flown out of the battery=CE(\dfrac{K}{K+1}-\dfrac{1}{2})=\dfrac{CE(K-1)}{2(K+1)}
Hence answer is option D.
