σ = 1.0×10-4 Cm-2
a = 1.0×10-2 m
V = a3 = 1.0×10-6 m3
Electric field due to an infinite conducting plane is E = σ/εo
Electric energy stored per unit volume is given by
u = ½ (εoE2)
Energy stored in the given volume
U = ½εoE2a3
=> U = ½εo (σ/εo ) 2a3
=> U = a3σ2/2ε0
=> U = 1.0×10-6 ×(1.0×10-4)2/(2×8.85×10-12)
=> U = 5.6×10-4 J
