A solid conducting sphere having a charge Q is surrounded by an uncharged concentric hollow spherical shell.Let the potential difference between the surface of the solid sphere and that of the outer surface of the hollow shell be "v".If the shell is now given a charge of -3Q, the new potential difference between the same 2 surfaces is-? Please give an elaborate explanation to this question. options- a)v b)3v c)2v. referece - question of IIT

When they are connected through a wire there will be a flow of charge to equlise the potential of both the spheres, hence the charges will redistribute.
