When is the right time 2 start preparing for GATE entrance. Im a 1st year EEE student.

I would say if you want to do Gate, take your college academics seriously. Because Gate exam is based on the your core subjects what is taught in college. To do extensive preparation, you can do it in your last (fourth) year.
