Grade 11Discuss with colleagues and IITians

My rank in JEE Advanced 2022 is 1871. Should I go for IIT Guwahati ECE or IIT Kanpur Mechanical and try for a branch change to CS or Electrical Engineering? Is changing your branch very difficult?

Branch change at IIT is tough, you will need to have CG according to the college criteria. Every department allows certain percent of students to exchange. If two students with the same CG apply for branch change, preference is given to the student with better JEE rank.

Are core branches(Mechanical) in Top 3 NIT worth it ?
