what type of a life can a mechanical engineer expect? are there possibilities of getting placed abroad? what would be the payscale?

1. In the present time in India mechanical engineering is not a good lucrative option.

2. If your considering possiblities of getting placed abroad, then mechanical engineering is not a good option, you should have to go to branch like computer science.

3. There is a drop in average package of mechanical engineers, even then mechanical engineering is a better option than other branches.

Are core branches(Mechanical) in Top 3 NIT worth it ?

My rank in JEE Advanced 2022 is 1871. Should I go for IIT Guwahati ECE or IIT Kanpur Mechanical and try for a branch change to CS or Electrical Engineering? Is changing your branch very difficult?
