it depends on the type of work you are doing in mechanical engineering , if you are at managerial post you need to take work from other , in that case you may not , but company has their own protocols , most of the time you have to wear dresses of company. but i think you have to wear cloth of company in other engineering branches too , like in ONGC other engineers also wear dresses. there is nothing wrong in wearing cloth coz that show your unity and power too . but in most of the cases you have to wear clothes , some of the cases you may not . hope this will clear your doubt , please aproove
