I am very much thanful to askiitians help in clearingthe doubts of us regarding issues related to iit jee admission. Still I have a question Most of the faculty of askiitians says that old iits are better thannew once (andthisis true also) in terems of job security and infrastructure. Does thismean that oneshould preferer to Join IIT Bombay in metallurgy instead of CSE in IIT roper. Also as for as interest of subject is concerned I feelthat it is too early forprospective students to select the subject of his or her interest just after intermediate. My question becomes too long butstill I have to decide where to join as I may notget goodbrances in old iits as my rank will not beso good.

My suggestion to you is that if you really wanna go in the technical line job, you should go to IIT Ropar. But if you are really enthusiastic about getting into extracircular activities rather than pure technican study, then you should go to old IITs.
Good Luck!
Thanks & Regards
