hi, plz tell me if I take Msc Chemistry in IIT Roorkee, can I get tranferred to Mech Eng if I perform well in 1^st year?

Hi, It is very tough to upgrade your branch in IIT. You have to be in top 10 of your batch to upgrade your branch or CGPA of 9.6-9.7 or above. So, do not complete rely on the fact that you will upgrade your branch after 1st year..

My rank in JEE Advanced 2022 is 1871. Should I go for IIT Guwahati ECE or IIT Kanpur Mechanical and try for a branch change to CS or Electrical Engineering? Is changing your branch very difficult?
