Chemical in old iits say Roorkee/Guwahati/Varanasi or mech in new iit say ropar/gandhinagar/patna/mandi.Please give your opinion

It depends on your interest too.. Both branches are good.. Both have a good scope in future. But some of us would not like to work in chemical industries later..In my opinion, you should join chemical in old iits.. Old iits will give you much exposure..THanks

My rank in JEE Advanced 2022 is 1871. Should I go for IIT Guwahati ECE or IIT Kanpur Mechanical and try for a branch change to CS or Electrical Engineering? Is changing your branch very difficult?
