approx. how many students sit for isat(indian institute of science and technology) and how many are selected ?

The total number of seats for all the Undergraduate programmes in IIST for the academic year 2010-11 is 156. The seat matrix for different programmes are as follows:
B Tech in Aerospace Engineering: 52; B Tech in Avionics: 65; B Tech in Physical Sciences: 39.
Reservation to different categories will be governed by Govt. of India Rules.

Since Students qualified in the merit list OR Extended merit list in the IIT JEE exam are eligible to apply for the above programmes, everyone can apply.

isat is being conducted for the first time,earlier iist used to take entrance through iit-jee eml.they call as many students as is the total number of seats available for the three graduation courses,although they also call some as WAIT-LISTED CANDIDATES.
