Hey Guys,

My Nephew secured 5920 rank in Jee 2013, we are just able to decide the best course and college option.

After lot of research we are getting Mat Sc & Tech (BHU), Process Eng with MBA (Roorkee), Ceramic Engg (BHU) and Geological tech (Kharagpur) and Mining Eng (Kharagour)

Can somebody guide us?

Mr. Sonu Kr . I too had a similar rank in JEE but after lots of thinking I left these branches for CSE @ NIT A . See the thing that is important is where you would like your nephew to be after 4 years . Going for a 6 lac job at max (only 2 or 3 guys in these branches get exceptional pakages ) or going for a career in professorship or a foreign university for further studies , all with an IIT degree or vying for numerous 15 lac jobs available with CSE in NITs . I took the decision because I didn''t want to risk my earnings for IIT degree and believe me sir , there are around 50-60 students every year getting placed above 10 lacs in NIT A and the average pakage being close to 8 lac for CSE/IT . So , its just a matter of taking some sensible decisions because you don''t want to go to IIT after studying so much , study ceramic or process engineering and then working for a 3.49 lac pa job in infosys as a consultant .
