Dear Srikanth,

Disproportionation reaction are redox reactions in which same element oxidixes and reduces. it is also known as self oxidation reduction reaction.

Example:

P4 + NAOH = PH3 + NAH2PO2

Here p4 is reduced(oxidation number decreases) in PH3 from 0 to -3 and also oxidized(oxidation number increases) in NAH2PO2 from 0 to +1.
