hi IIT'ns

i am aadesh,pursuing MCA (last year) , i have appeared for GATE 2012 ,and just missed IIT by some marks, i am appearing for gate 2013, and i am sure i will make it, but i havesome doubt

does previous academics play imp role in campus placement

my 10th marks - 78.66

12th -59.33

BCA 64

MCA 64

now does this affect placements?? i heard many companies ask throughout 80%?? is that true??? please clear my doubts
