There is a lot of difference between the studies of architecture and civil engineering.an architecture deals only with the systems,materials and dynamics related to a building structure whereas civil is a widespread branch needed in almost every industry be it roads,buildings,bridges,water systems,aviation,oil sector(gail,ongc etc),heavy industries(bhel),electrical industries(ntpc) ...for details go to a good college website offering both civil and architecture and see the difference in their syllabus...as far as IT is concerned i would suggest you NIT allahabad in preference to IIIT A because there is a difference between the two NIT ALLAHABAD is a bigger brand amongst industries than IIIT A.
