I got 89% in cbse board exams.Keeping the provisions of the new system in mind(weightage to board marks),would it be advisable for me to take a year off?

No there is no need based upon the reasoining that you have given but if you think you are not prepared properly then surely you can take drop of one year in order to make yourself the best in the league of competing students .
