Dear Sir, I am eagerly waiting to know whether IT-BHU has been giveen IIT status, i.e., whether the bill has been passed by the Rajya sabha on 30 April 2012, or just put up for consideration.

The Bill was passed with 100% majority in Rajya Sabha on Monday 30th April, 2012 at 04:16 PM. After Presidents Assent (in a week or two), IT-BHU shall srop its present name and shall begin using IIT (BHU) Varanasi as the official name.
