go to tata mcgrawhill its the best book for the foundation of iit. they provide very questions for the concept. and though u r in class 9. dont think that u only need to complete class 9 syllabus. try to study higher level books. know the tricks. do tricky problems. and try sitting in competetive exams. solve previous year competeive papers. read through 10 times. and this wil help u build your concept. see if u have enough knowledge no one can stop u from getting a good rank in IIT.

there is a fittjee exam FTRE going to be held on 25th december,2011. try to give that exam. know ur national rank and work work. link: www.fiitjee.com

Hi Jasneet,

In your 9th and 10th Standard, you should focus on your concept building. You should read thoroughly the topics of your 10th Standard from your NCERT for Science. And for Maths, you should practice problmes on your own from a good book like RD Sharma...... Maintain a hand written notebook of all the concepts you read, and make note of those questions which you were unable to solve, and keep revising them on a regular basis.... Revision is a very key factor....

You should start using reference books, preferable only from your 11th Standard. Until then you should focus to have a very strong foundation of your 9th and 10th Standrad.

Best Regards,

Ashwin (IIT Madras).
