Hello, The concept behind the relative velocity is :velocity of one body with respect to the another body in all frame of references, so in the view of numericals you must go with process.First you have to understand the meaning of question and with this you should apply the  formula which is suitable for question. And the very imp. thing is u have to decide the relative vel. according to question you have to take right frame.
