Discuss with colleagues and IITians

After seeing my sucking performance in engineering entrance exams my brother( who is an iitian)told me that it is not my cup of tea.He said that my aptitude level is low and i should rather do llb or any other theoretical course than engineering. Though i had decided in 12th that i would drop and hence did not put my best effort then because i thought i'll put all my efforts to crack jee in my drop year. But my bro's views about my lack of brains has put me in a doubtful situation.I know that i can work really hard but what if i don't have brains?working heard would obviously won't be enough.I don't wanna waste a year.So could you please suggest me...Should i change my path and go for designing or llb?

My dear friend.............to be succesful in designing or law and to settle down in a decent way u need to have much more brains than engineers..............

I dont think u dont have brains ................may be U are just not oriented towards engineering...............U can excel in some other fields where others cannot...............................No person can judge other persons intellegence.

Einstien was asked by his teacher...."Can u ever in your lifetime solve atleast one problem in mathematics?"....

I believe every one has talent oriented in someway ..........all u have to do is to search yourself and bring it out...........Smile

Dear nisha tiwari,

I think your brother must know a lot about you !!

I suggest you to go by his word !!

If he sees that you do not have the stuff to be an IITian then you have to accept it & take ythe carrer that interests you & motivates you , rather than banging your head to be an IITian !!

After all IIT's are not the entire life !! Are they???

Hope you made a good decision now !!

All the Best & Good Luck !!

If you think you can't crack jee because you lack aptitude, you may be right. But JEE is not the only Entrance exam. If you drop an year and prepare seroiusly for AIEEE you can get into other one of the best colleges of India like DTU, NSIT and NIT Surathkal and many others. Dont decide what to do on the basis of which course is easier or harder. If you go for LLB then you will become a lawyer. Being a good lawyer is not a cup of tea for those who are not very good with dealing clever people. To establish oneself as a lawyer is a tougher task than becoming an engineer. I would suggest you to go for an year drop. I also had such confusion after 12th. I went for the drop and I dont regret my decision today. AIEEE doesn't require that much aptitude as JEE does. All you need is conceptual knowledge of every chapter and you should be a littte fast and accurate with problem solving. With moderate amount of regular study you can attain a very good rank in AIEEE.

Best of Luck and believe in yourselves!

thank you sir for replying...

but i am still very sure of going to iit,but more that i am sure that i will be taking architecture or designing if i got selected....even with AIR 1.

should i still drop my decision?

or should i continue with iitjee preperation?

i am not taking any coaching or tutions,i hv taken the best coachings in 11th and 12th....

what i feel is that i am unable to solve questions....either i forget the solution(in case ques. hs been once done) or the formula....solution dos't strike my mind....i hv all most all concepts clear....bt que. solving is one thing i lack...and it is most impotant for iitjee...
