i had given iit 2011 and not selected though i was very passionate about getting into iit...20 days before iit i had a terrible sickness and i couldnt touch the books for 10 days which affected my board results and i got just 79% in pcm(total 82%).i didnt know what happened on the day of iit i just landed to 180 though at home i figured out that i knew about 330 marks.i was really very depressed and i didnt want to go to nits but my parents moralised me to do ur best in aieee.i had not given my best in aieee but got the rank of 10319.my interest is in chemical engg and i can get it in nit warangal or trichy but i wanted iit at any cost....so please help in taking a good decision of dropping or not...
