what are the methods to find effective resistance like star delta?like symmetry method i want theory

Whenever you find a symmetry in the circuit, the circuit is broken into two or more halves about the lines of symmetry. All the points on the line of symmetry are equipotential. Then find the equivalent R or C in the part of circuit and do necessary modifications to complete the symmetry...
