angle between hands whent time is 2:20

Take 12 o clock time as reference i.e when both the hands are at 12. 

hour hand move 30⁰ in one hour and 60⁰ in two hour

now here 20 min extra that is one third hour extra in one third hour hour hand will move 30/3=10⁰

hence at 2.20 hour hand will make angle 60+10=70⁰ with 12 o clock line

now for minute hand

minute hand move 360⁰ in one hour that is 60 min

it will move 360/3=120⁰ in 20 minute

hence angle between both hand will be 120-70=50⁰
