It is an oxidising agent that, by virtue of itsaccepting electrons, is itself reduced in the process.Typical oxidizing agents undergo permanent chemical alterationthrough covalent or ionic reaction chemistry, resulting in the completeand irreversible transfer of one or more electrons.
