my air in jee is 4094.which is better- desired branch in new iit or branch in old iit?

4094 is a satisfactory rank. I suggest u should always go with a desired branch as that what makes your carrer. New IITs are not having any background of success so u should not demote them as compared to old IITs, They are expected to have good placements.
Take stream of your interest, that will help you in long run
