roorkee (civil )or guwahati (mech or electrical)????Future prospects in the above 2 options and is civil worth doing?

IIT Guwahati is a older IIT than Rourkie. However, rourkie was a very reputed college before it became an IIT too and was the next best choice for students who did not clear IIT JEE. Hence, both brands will have nearly same value. So since guwahati is giving you an option to obtain admissions into better departments, I think you must opt for IIT Guwahati Electrical or mechanical if you do not mind travelling all the way to guwahati.
