Your question is not clear .. Are you weak in you first year of engineering ? Thn how it is related with getting seat in IIT.

There's a lot time remaining. A whole year is sufficient to prepare for both, as you do have idea of 11th. IIT JEE preparation needs basic focus that you need to take care of.

I surely believe that once done with your basics, u can go for a few weeks of practice sessions and IIT will be more easier for you.. Need not to worry
