Sir/Mam i have one confusion ...When elevator goes up with accelaration a (=g) so here why do we take the sign of “g” positive and why not negative since we r going up so g shud be taken negative??Plzz see the attachement for reference....

Hi,

As in the image attached, There is a Pseudo Force acting on any object placed in the elevator and this pseudo force is opposite in direction to the direction of accleration of the elevator.

The sign of gravity has no significance here..

This can be easily understood in a day to day scenario when on an elevator.

Are core branches(Mechanical) in Top 3 NIT worth it ?
