are NITs better than VIT??? which one would be the better choice?

yes , for sure , NIT are better than VIT , VIT are private but NIT are govt , so, low cost in nit . 

and also nit have a very good placement than vit , nit have so many seats but vit have limited . 
and even nit have international value , but VIT vellore only have , not the oithers .,

It depends on what branch you are getting in NIT and VIT , of course price is low in NIT’s and placement is too good ,but opt only if you are getting good NIT , if you are not getting good nit and good branch then go for VIT, life is awesome there and placement is decent. you need to develop soo many skills in college life, which would be better in VIT, than lower NITs , so choose accordingly.
