why eccentricty of circle is zero

Eccentricity: how much a conic section (a circle, ellipse, parabola or hyperbola) varies from being circular. Since circle does not varies from being circular, therefore its eccentricity is 0.

Dear student,
The geometric meaning of eccentric is non-concentric, i.e. deviating from the circular form, as in the elliptical (oval) orbits of the planets. Since for the case of circles the deviation is zero, so the eccentricity is 0.
