let coordinates of P be (a, 5a+3).
let coordinates of M be (h, k).
now, by mid point rule, we have
2h=a+3 and 2k=5a+3 – 2
eliminating a from these equations we get
5h=k+7
changing h  and k into x and y respectively, we get
5x=y+7
