Let the point be (h,k).
So, already given that sum of distance of this point from two perpendicular lines in a plane is 1.
Let those perpendicular lines are X-axis and Y-axis.
Therefoe,
|h| + |k| = 1
 
so, the locus is |x| + |y| = 1, which is a square.
