In this question there are two equations one is centre of I circle is (-a,0) and other is (-b,0) so it is also mentioned that one of them lies inside the other. So this means either both circle work

Will be on negative side of x axis or will be on positive sidevof x axis .in the left side centre of both circle will be negative therefore the product of a and b will be -a *-b= positive that is ab .and if they are on positive side so both wil be positive .hence product will be >0 again. So our first answer is ab>0.And for second perpendicular distance>radius therefore a>√a2-ca2>a2-cC>0 hence proved
