any point on xoz plane has its y-coordinate zero,
so let the pt. divide the points (2,3,1) and (6,7,1) in the ratio k:1
.
by section formula-
(7k+3)/k+1 =0
so k= -3/7.
that is xoz plane divides those points in ratio 3:7 externally
