find eq of transverse axis of hyperbola passing through (2,4)

(A) x+y=0

(B)y=-1/2

(C)x=-1/2

(D)none

i got the answer as y=-1/2 by using the concept equation of hyperbola=equation of asymptotes + k.

k is any real constant.
