Find the equation to the circles which pass through the origin and cutoff equal chords 'a' from the straight lines y=x and y=-x

Hi Suhas,

 

This is possible only when x-axis is the diameter.

So r = a/√2. And cetre is (0,a/√2)....

 

Hence you can get the equation, with centre and radius.
