Just differntiate it w.r.t x once and equate it to zero and then solve it for values of x.
U would get one value of x always for a quadratic.
At that point the function would be either maximum or minimum.
Just put that x value into the quadratic function to get that value.
To know that the point is maxima or minima differentiate once more if it would be a constant.
If it would be negative then it is maxima otherwose it is minima.
