If the sum of distances of a variable point P from points S(1,0) and S`(-1,0) is constant and equal to 8, then find the set of points.

The locii of the point is clearly an ellipse with two foci as S and S`.
Distance = 2a = 8

Hence, a = 4
c = Distance between focii/2 = 1
Hence, now you may find the equation of ellipse with centre (0,0).
