7 different coins are to be divide amongst 3 persons. If now 2 of the persons receive the same no of coins but each receives at least 1 coin and none is left over, then the no of ways in which the division may be made is ?

there are 6 possibility

1+2+4 =7

and permutation for this is 3! =6

 person who get only one prize ,can get in ⁷C1 =7 ways

person who get two  prize ,can get in ⁶C2 =15 ways

person who get four prize ,can get in ⁴C4 =1 ways

 

total ways =6! * 7*15*1
