Find the no. of squares formed on the chess board.

In chess board we have 9 horizontal and 9 vertical lines

square is made with the help of two horizontal and two vertical lines

let the length of side smallest square is 1 unit

so number of square havigf side 1 unit is  8*8

   number of square havin side 2 unit is  7*7

  number of square having side 3  unit is  6*6

number of square having side 8 unit is  1*1

so total number of square  =1² +2^{2  ..........}      +8²

                                      =204
