by splitting the middle term
a2-8a-3a + 24
a(a-8) -3(a-8)
(a-3)(a-8)
substitute a
(x2-2x-3) (x2-2x-8)
splitting the middle term
(x2-3x+x-3) (x2-4x+2x-8)
x(x-3) + 1(x-3) * x(x-4) + 2(x-4)
(x+1)(x-3)(x+2)(x-4)
