then assume a/ b = t (for simplicity in writing)
(t^3 + 2t)/ (2t^2 + 1) = 123/136
Now cross multiply and solve for t which is obviouslya/b

136 t^3 + 272t^2 = 246t^2 + 123
136 t^3 + 26t^2 -123 = 0
Solve this the ans would be
x1 = 0.90735
x2 = -0.54927 + i * 0.83371
x3 = -0.54927 - i * 0.83371
x2 = -0.54927 + i * 0.83371
x3 = -0.54927 - i * 0.83371
So , a/b = 9/10
