construction DB which intersect PQ at O
O is the mid point of DB
since P and O are the mid point
therefore PO is ½ of AB
i.e. PO is 4cm 
OQ is 6cm - 4cm
OQ =2cm
now,
       since: O &Q are midpoint 
therefore: DC is 2(OQ)
i.e. 2×2=  4cm
