There are two test tubes one containing salt and other containing sugar both appear same as they are in powdered form. Device a method of identifying the substance without tasting them

There are two ways to tell the difference between salt and sugar without tasting either one of them. One way is to place them separately in separate pans, and cook them. Sugar has a higher boiling point than does salt. When heated sugar will melt into a brown syrupy sustains Salt will not melt.

One way I can tell you is that heat the both sugar and the salt seperately in seperate pans. After sometime, suger will be churned i.e. it’s colour will change into dark brown. But salt will not melt. This is because sugar has a higher boiling point than salt.
