Approved Tutor Answer10 Years agoHumidity is defined as the amount of water vapour present in air. Water vapour is lighter than dry air. When water vapour is more so the air density is less. Since the speed of a medium is inversely proportional to the square root of its density. So the speed of sound in moist air is more than the speed of sound in dry air
