Can any one give the answeof the following question- 4 ice blocks are filled with cotton, steel , paper, salt. Block A is filled with cotton, Block B is filled with Steel, Block C is filled with paper and Block D is filled with Salt. which of the black will take the longest to break????

Can any one give the answeof the following question-
 
4 ice blocks are filled with cotton, steel , paper, salt.
 
Block A is filled with cotton, Block B is filled with Steel, Block C is filled with paper and Block D is filled with Salt.
 
which of the black will take the longest to break????

Block filled with salt takes the longest to break because the salt will actually make a homogenous mixture in the ice increasing its density and hence strength. Rest others are lying there inside but the outer surface is still ice hence will not much affect its strength.

sir, i too said salt but it was cotton (by bhargavi).......

the reason is when the cotton is dipped is the water some of its fibres spreads and when we try to break the ice the fibres stands as the obstacles and stop the breaking of ice quickly. I tried it myself.
