1) The fertilisation which takes place outside the body of mother is known as in vitro fertilisation. 2) The freshly released egg from the mother is taken and kept with the sperms from the father in a test-tube with proper nutritional base at suitable temperature. Fertilisation takes place and after the zygote is about a week old it is transfered to the mothers uterus. 3)Babies bom under this technique are known as Test-tube babies. 4) Possible reasons for adopting this technique are – less number of sperms or blocked fallopian tubes.
