Short note on physical and biological processes in wastewater treatment plant

Following steps are carried out in wastewater treatment plants:
1) Large objects like sticks and cans are removed through vertical bars.
2) Grit and sand are removed in settling tanks.
3) Sedimentation is carried out.
4) Sludge is removed.
5) Floating materials are removed using skimmers.
6) Aerobic bacteria consume organic waste in aeration atnk.
7) After allowing the water to stay in the second sedimentation tank, water is delivered to the desired place.
